New Coach At Forza FC

New Coaching Appointment at Forza— The Return Of An Old Friend!

We are excited to share with you that we have a new coach joining us for the 2019/2020 season!

Montana Hadley (Tanner) is going to be wearing the Forza badge again starting at tryouts this year!

The story is made all the more exciting with our previous connections with Montana. As a player Montana played at Viewmont High School and was a captain and key part of the team who won the State Championship in her junior year as well as playing for Forza all the way back to the Utah Rush days and was then a key player in the success of our Forza 96 girls teams who had terrific success in and out of state for many years. Almost all of that 96 team went on to play at college with Montana being a particular success story as she was a four year starter at Dixie in her preferred position of center back. During her time at Dixie Montana had a stellar career, she was voted the team’s defender of the year in her sophomore, junior and senior years, as a senior she was PacWest Conference defender of the year and was an All American 2nd team member. She broke the record for the most playing minutes of all time at Dixie, started every game from freshman to senior and is 2nd in the list of most starts with 71 and was 4th for career assists in Dixie history.

During her time at Dixie Montana cut her coaching teeth starting with a group of girls at the Heat FC club (Nevada) and taking them to multiple tournaments out of state where their results were impressive and the teams development was particularly strong.

Montana will be coaching in our 05 girls age group and will be a fantastic addition to the the girls program, and to the club.

A word of warning to all players— don’t play against her at practice- a more competitive player there has never been and you take her on at your peril!

Welcome home Montana- we are super happy to have you back!!

Academy & Competition Coaching Boards posted! Check it out on their pages!

Massive congratulations to Forza’s 05 Girls for finishing 1st in Premier one- managing to lose just a single game since the season started last August. Well done Girls!

    News & Updates

    New Scholarship Partnership

Wasatch Properties and Forza Announce Scholarship Partnership

Forza is thrilled to announce a unique sponsorship partnership with Wasatch Residential Group designed to provide further help and assistance to kids who might otherwise be precluded from playing competitive soccer.

Wasatch is a fully integrated real estate development company that specializes in affordable and market rate rental housing.  They are committed to the community and youth development through sports.   The partnership with Forza helps them meet their community objectives as a targeted way to help kids and families who find themselves in a tough spot to continue to be a part of the soccer community through financial assistance.

Rich Egan, President of Forza commented “We are delighted to receive this help from Wasatch and know that their assistance will help families in Forza a great deal”.

Information on how to apply for financial help will be published on the Forza Website post tryouts.

    Forza Coach of the Month

Forza would like to recognize Rich Egan as our Coach of the Month for May.

Rich has been with Forza for many years. Not only as a Coach, but also as a player back when the club was known as Utah Futbol Club. Rich has served as a BOD member during the transition from UFC to Rush, and is currently serving as our President. Last year at tryouts, we asked Rich to take a team that was formed at tryouts, and Rich has handled that team, brilliantly. I recently attended one of the team's games and was thrilled to see Rich's coaching, teaching, displayed on the pitch. The progression from the fall to early spring has been fantastic, and for that reason, I wanted to recognize Rich for the outstanding efforts and time he is giving his players.

Rich, Congratulations on being our Coach of the Month.

    Forza Player of the Month

Forza would like to recognize Ricky Bird as our Player of the month for May. Ricky  plays for our Forza FC 06 CM team, coached by Cade Miller. Here is what Cade has to say about Ricky:

Ricky is the only keeper on our team.  Last week we had a competitive game and he wasn’t feeling well but he knew it was a big game so he played even though he was throwing up next to the goal #TeamPlayer.  Ricky is always at trainings, early for games and has a positive attitude; he is an exceptional leader and his team chose him as captain this year.  Ricky truly is a good friend and incredible teammate, Forza is blessed to have Ricky within their club.

Congratulations Ricky for being our Forza Player of the Month!
